DVD Drive Missing in Windows 8 - Solution

Some people having this problem that they can't find their DVD drive after installing Windows 8. Of course this is a big problem as DVD drive is an important part of the computer. A solution to this problem can be as follows.


1. Open CMD as adiministrator and write the following code and press enter.
reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0×00000001

2. Restart your computer.

That is all. Hope this will bring back your DVD drive where it belongs. If this does not work then try the Alternate Way to Bring Back DVD Drive in Windows 8.
